ANGELS

Hebrews 1:14 speaks of angels....Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
Psalm 91:11 speaks of angels....For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways. Those are a couple of my favorite verses in the Bible regarding angels. Isn't it just great how God loves us so much that he sent His only begotten Son to die for our sins, (John 3:16) and gives us angels to watch over us! Among my collections, is a large collection of angels. Also, one of my favorite crafts, especially for the Christmas seasons, is angels. I have made several different kinds of angel crafts over the years. This week I have created a new angel ornament. I don't know what I will do with them, I just enjoy making them. Some of th
em may hang on my new Christmas tree and some may be given to friends and family. I hope you like them.

These are the pieces before being put together: The halo is a gold pipe cleaner, the dress and arms is white felt, the wing is white and gold lace which I gather in the center, the head is wooden with a hole all the way through in which I place craft thread for hanging and a small piece of dowel rod to hold it in place, I use some gold trim and lace on the bottom of the dress and golden beads around the neck

This is a finished product. I forgot to put the hair in the first photo. I use different colors of doll hair.

Here, I am holding one to show the size.

EXCITING NEWS!!

IT'S A GIRL!!

We just found out today that our great grandbaby is a girl! Everyone is so excited. Now plans can be made on what theme to decorate the nursery. Now we can buy baby girl things. As a matter of fact, Sierra is right this minute at a baby and maternity consignment shop. Oh, I wish I was there too. My daughter is with her. This is her first grandbaby and I know she is excited about it. But, it is my first great grandbaby and I think I'm more excited. Sierra gets so excited. She just bubbles over all the time. She tickles me sometimes. Oh, we are all just going to enjoy this special exciting time of expecting.

Aren't you excited for me?

ROCK COLLECTION

I'd like to share with you pics of a few of our rocks that we have collected over the years as we have traveled to different State parks. When we find an interesting or unusual rock, we like to bring it home and place it around our fish pond.

This one is not from one of our trips, but is a lump of coal that I wanted to include in my collection.

This is a very unusual one that my husband found while he was walking on the hill above my doctor's office while I was seeing the doctor.

I don't remember where this one came from. We thought it might have been a rock used by the Indians in grinding. It has the thumb like indentation in it.

This one is really strange. It is a rock that has lots of little circle formations in it. The back side is just like a normal rock.

Another strange rock.

Look at the holes in this one.

This one is similar to the one above but with smaller holes.

Don't you think these are unusual rocks?

A DAY OUT WITH THE LADIES

A new experience for me!
Our pastor's wife had planned a day trip to the Amish country of Ohio. John and I had visited the Amish country just last October with my sister and one of her sons. I loved it. Of course John didn't care much for it, but I'm glad he went. It is not normal for him to do things like that, but I think he went because he was curious. He found out that it involved browsing lots of crafty shops and that is just not his thing. Since I loved it so much and there was so much more to see than a day could contain, I decided that I would like to go again sometime. When this trip came up at church, I just had to go. This would be a new experience for me since I had never gone anywhere with the church ladies before. We met at the church at 7:00 a.m. There were 16 of us. We traveled in three vans. The trip was about three hours. It didn't seem that long to me because we enjoyed just talking together. When we got there, we parke
d and divided up in small groups to go where we pleased, eat lunch and then meet again so we could all go to dinner together. My friend and I browsed a lot of shops and made a few purchases. We had lunch at Java Jo's Coffee Shop, where I had a portabella veggie wrap.....DELICIOUS!! We all had dinner at the Der Dutchman Restaurant.....THE BEST! The line at the restaurant was very very long. We were allowed to go straight in. They had tables lined up so that we could all sit together. The food was THE BEST! I had the Amish sampler. I had to take part of it home to finish later. Shortly after dinner, we left for home and arrived back at the church around 10:00 p.m. That was a day that I will always remember. I'm hoping that there are more outings like this planned for the ladies of the church. It is good for the soul to get away for fun and fellowship once in awhile.....at least it was good for me. I had a great day....fellowship was great.....browsing was great......fall scenery was great......weather was great. But, shame on me, I only took one picture.

This is a photo of one of the many
horse and buggys that we saw on the streets.

I really enjoyed seeing these.

Next time, I'll take more pics.

CHRISTMAS CRAFTS

I have been busy making little Christmas crafts. I guess you might say I'm getting into the Christmas mood. I even bought a small 4 ft white tree with lights on it. I haven't had a tree for years. I live in a single wide mobile home and just don't have much room, but decided that I want to try to have one this year. I'm posting a photo of a few of my ornaments that I've finished. They can be used as a tree ornament or they can adorn gifts. I enjoy making crafts. I get my ideas from crafting sites and blogs. I usually just get ideas and make them a little differently. Sometimes, I even have a brain storm and create something of my own. I may be posting more as I create different ones. Hope you enjoy.

These are my little snowmen and gingerbread boys and girls. The yarn angel is holding a golden harp. Aren't they cute? I think they are.

I'll be posting more soon.
