DISCARDED

MaMa is feeling discarded.
A few years ago....which feels like decades....
my granddaughters spent about
every weekend at my place.
We would drive down on Friday evening....
they would spend the weekend.....
go to Sunday School with me....
on Sunday my daughter would come pick them up
or if she couldn't.....we would take them home.

They are older now.....
the weekend stays have ended....
Shayna works or has plans with her friends....
Marlee has plans with her friends....

I miss that.

MaMa is feeling discarded.

So....this evening I decided that if I was going
to get a bouquet of Sweet Williams this spring......
I would have to pick them myself.

I did.

They smell so good.

But I still miss the girls.

I guess I'm experiencing with my kids what you're experiencing with your grand kids. They get older and have a life of their own and don't want to do anything with you any more. I love sweet williams! I used to pick them for Mom. They bring back lots of memories. By the way, did you see on my writing blog about my short story about Mom's Old Santa Hat? It's going to be published in September.

Yep, that's what they do. They grow up and go away. But they always come back. Now is the time for you. Time to do all the things you never had time to do before. Enjoy it and when they visit it will be sweeter.

(hug)....I would imagine that is how my Mom feels. It is hard to be away for long from the sweet faces of the ones you love.
Hope you get a visit really soon!
And did I see you won over at Samaritan Woman? Congrats! That ought to lift your spirit a tad. :)

Girl friend...... I am so sorry that you are down....... Life just has a way of hurting our feelings......One thing is for sure.... The memories that you have given them will last for a lifetime and when they grow old and have grandchildren of their own they will tell all the stories of the wonderful grandmother that was in thier lives...... I pray that they come to see you SOON!

Come on over and see what you have ONE!!!!!!!!

Stopping by to say "Congrats" on your winning from Denise, I just LOVE her! I wonder if my Mom feels that way about my daughter, but they do drive by and stop in an chit chat with her some, never realized how it might hurt her, until I read your post. Again, CONGRATS to you!

I think this is one of the sweetest posts I have ever read. My mother-in-law just said the same thing about my girls this past week. They are both growing up like your girls are and right now it is all about them and their friends.

I loved the bouquet of sweet williams.

Have a blessed Mothers Day!

Shirley,
I wanted to say thank you for sharing your story with me. You are one of those wonderful christian ladies I have found on here. We lift each other up and this is so important.

I have cried many days out of Joy!

Once again thank you for sharing!

God is so Good!
Debbie
