The town of Davis is a very small, old mountain town. On the main street going through the town, the buildings are very old and consist of restaurants, bed and breakfast, and other tourist attractions. There is one old building that I just had to take a photo of. The building contains the Davis Post Office and The National Bank of Davis, as well as housing other businesses.
What is so interesting about this building, is the side view.
Do you see that tree growing out of the chimney? I wasn't the first to notice it, but John brought it to my attention. Obviously the chimney is no longer used....but, I wonder why the are leaving the tree growing there? You'd think that the roots would eventually cause the stones to break apart, or maybe the roots are just growing straight down the chimney.

Hello girl... We are home also and had a good time.. I will read and catch up with your vacation also.. I find that tree very interesting.. Wonder how it lives? go figure!
that is neat. Maybe no one has noticed it, just like you didn't until John pointed it out.
That is too funny. You are right..how strange that they would leave it.
Neat looking building though. Looks like a cute place to visit.
REally interesting! :)
Now I'm curious about that tree and how long it has been there and how long it will stay.
Hi, Shirley, Thank you for stopping by!! How neat it was to see your pictures of Davis in Tucker Co., WV. My grandma was from Tucker Co! It is such a beautiful place. Love going there. Thanks so much for sharing. Karen
I love old towns like that!
That is weird about the tree. And kind of funny too. I bet you're right though, it'll bust the bricks eventually!
Hi, Shirley---I sent you an email :)

That tree growing out of the chimney is too funny! Lovely old building...I adore old buildings, too. They make great photos. By the way, I haven't visited you in a while. I will try not to be such a stranger in the future!
