TREATED TO LUNCH

Yesterday, John and I went to K-Mart to get one of my prescriptions filled. We decided to have lunch at McDonalds before going home. We were in for a surprise when we parked and got out of the truck to go into McDonalds. We had parked just a space away from a local radio station's van. The driver was sitting in the van with the door open. He called me over, stating that he had some coupons for us. I thought he was wanting to get me over there to maybe ask a question while on the air and I was a little hesitant. I asked what I had to do to get the coupons and he said no strings attached. I then proceeded over to him and he gave me two coupons for which I gladly thanked him. I just assumed it would be a discount off a sandwich or something but no..........each coupon was for a FREE value meal! Wasn't that nice! Yes, that was so nice!

Today, we had to go back to town to John's doctor's office. He was prescribed a new prescription for his blood pressure since he has been having problems with his blood pressure and pain in his chest and arm. So, another trip to K-Mart for that prescription. We again went to McDonalds for lunch before going to K-Mart, but this time, we had to pay. When we go to McDonalds, we always sit at the window and watch the pigeons on the parking lot just across the way. They were looking for something to eat......people usually throw food out for them, but there was none there at this time. So, when we go to K-Mart, John bought a large box of Honeycomb cereal, to feed the pigeons. Today they got treated to a free lunch on us.

I didn't have my camera with me, but took a picture with my cell phone, which I have just learned does not have the capability to download to a computer. Now, I say what is the use of having a camera phone if all you can do is store the picture on the phone or delete it.......and if you store it.....that's it......stored. Well, I am very disappointed in my phone......now I can't share that picture of all those pigeons eating the Honeycomb cereal......and there was a lot of them.

WHAT IS IT?

Not many wanted to guess, so I guess I will have to tell you what it is......

If you will look really close, you can see my fishing line going into the water where the ice has been broken away. My husband loves fishing so much, that he has to go even if the lake is frozen over. The ice was thicker on the other side but I refused to go out on it to fish. So we settled for fishing close to the bank on the side that had melted some......I refused to go back with him after that......I will wait until the ice is thawed. He caught five trout yesterday while fishing out on the ice. Guess you know what we're having for supper......fried trout!

SWEET 16!

On January 25, 1993,
my first granddaughter was born.
She came via emergency C section.
Had Ma Ma scared for awhile.
She and her mother lived with us
for the first two years of her life.
Ma Ma became very attached to
little Shayna Leigh.
After they moved out,
I got her for most weekends.
She attended Sunday School with me.
I have so, so many good memories with her.
One of my most favorite memories
is of picking wildflowers.
She was probably four years old.
We walked on the hill behind our home.
We found a very large patch of wildflowers.
The Sweet Williams smell so good.
Shayna got really excited and said,
"Ma Ma, who planted all these flowers here?"
I said, "God did."
She raised her pretty little face
toward Heaven,and said,
"Thank you, God."
My heart was so full of thankfulness
to see my little Shayna thanking God
for those wildflowers
with such sweet sincerity.
Here she is with a bouquet of Sweet Williams.
Isn't she just adorable?

Now she is "grown", and has a busy schedule.
Ma Ma doesn't get to see her very often anymore.
Today she turned "Sweet 16".
She is still adorable.

CAN YOU GUESS WHAT THIS IS?

WHAT IS IT?

I'm sure you can guess what it is.......
but just in case you might not know,
I'm asking you to let me know what it is.
After I see a few of your guesses,
I'll let you know if you are right.

So....go for it!

I FINALLY GOT IT!

MY CHRISTMAS GIFT........

I've wanted a family ring for a long, long time.

Right before Christmas, my husband had me order one. I was suprised! I had already spent so much on others for Christmas, I didn't want to spend on myself, but he insisted. I got a call from the store Wednesday so we went and picked it up. I love it! It isn't real expensive. The ring is sterling instead of gold, but the stones are real. One row has my first daughter's stone and under her's are her two children's stones. The other row is my youngest daughter's stone and under her's are her two children's stones. Their names are engraved alongside each stone.

I had the hardest time trying to get a photo that wasn't blurred. I wanted a close up but the one I've posted here is the best I could get.....and it isn't very good.

Now that I have a great grandaughter on the way, maybe I'll get a little pinky ring with her stone.

Wasn't that nice of my hubby? He can be good sometimes. lol

LOOK WHAT GREETED ME THIS MORNING!!

This morning when I sat down at my computer, I was blessed with a pretty sight just outside my window. During the night, we got three inches of snow. My husband had filled the feeders yesterday, since we knew the snow was coming. Visiting the feeders were cardinals, blue jays, doves, and juncos. The photo was taken through the window, so it's not a good photo. I wasn't able to get a shot with all of them there at once, but aren't the cardinals pretty!
