I FINALLY GOT IT!

MY CHRISTMAS GIFT........

I've wanted a family ring for a long, long time.

Right before Christmas, my husband had me order one. I was suprised! I had already spent so much on others for Christmas, I didn't want to spend on myself, but he insisted. I got a call from the store Wednesday so we went and picked it up. I love it! It isn't real expensive. The ring is sterling instead of gold, but the stones are real. One row has my first daughter's stone and under her's are her two children's stones. The other row is my youngest daughter's stone and under her's are her two children's stones. Their names are engraved alongside each stone.

I had the hardest time trying to get a photo that wasn't blurred. I wanted a close up but the one I've posted here is the best I could get.....and it isn't very good.

Now that I have a great grandaughter on the way, maybe I'll get a little pinky ring with her stone.

Wasn't that nice of my hubby? He can be good sometimes. lol

LOOK WHAT GREETED ME THIS MORNING!!

This morning when I sat down at my computer, I was blessed with a pretty sight just outside my window. During the night, we got three inches of snow. My husband had filled the feeders yesterday, since we knew the snow was coming. Visiting the feeders were cardinals, blue jays, doves, and juncos. The photo was taken through the window, so it's not a good photo. I wasn't able to get a shot with all of them there at once, but aren't the cardinals pretty!

GUESS WHAT I DID ON NEW YEAR'S EVE!

I'm not a party person, so I didn't party.

I'm not a drinking person, so I didn't drink.

Since it was Wednesday, I went to church.

Our pastor had a special presentation for the new year......and party food.

After church, I had a sewing project to finish.

I worked on the project until a little after 2:00 a.m.



What do you think?

Curtains hanging in our great grandbaby's nursery.
I think I will buy a sheer pink panel to go behind them.
If I can't find a pink sheer, I'll just have to make one.



Everyone is looking forward to her birth.

NEW YEAR RESOLUTIONS?

NOT ME!!
I will not make any new year resolutions!
I cannot keep them, so why make them?

But, I will say that I will try......
to begin each day with God,
to be a better Christian,
to read my Bible more,
to pray more,
to praise God more,
to be a better witness for God,
to rely on God more,
to be a help to others,
to improve my eating habits,
to lose weight,
to become healthier.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me. Philippians 4:13

I am weak and have no will power within myself to succeed in these areas of my life, but if I commit these things to God, He will give me the strength to accomplish them. That is my goal for the new year.....to rely wholly upon God. When I've done that, I will have victory through Him.

My first full year of retirement.

Enjoyed a lot of spring trout fishing.

I caught my first BIG trout and had it mounted.

Our cat of 19 years had to be put down.

Our dog of 14 years had to be put down.

We got a new puppy.......Huey.

My grandson got married.......July 4th.

I started blogging.......Thank you Janet.

"Met" a lot of wonderful ladies through blogging.

I read some good books.

Enjoyed a good spring vacation......Cabwaylingo State Forest, Wayne County, WV.

Enjoyed a fantastic fall vacation.......Canaan Valley, WV.

Went on a day trip to Cabela's in Wheeling......Thank you Andrew.

Went on my first outing with the church ladies.......Amish Country, Ohio.

I made my first quilt.........for my great grandbaby who will be here in March 2009.

Thank you all for visiting with me since September 15, 2008. I'm looking forward to sharing and visiting with you in 2009.
