Fall Decorating

Don't you just love fall
decorations? I do!

I've been busy putting out my fall decorations. Each year I seem to always add more. I can't resist buying new ones. I hit it lucky recently at a yard sale and found several nice, new fall flower bushes that were really cheap. I didn't need them, but I couldn't resist. I have made several new flower arrangements. Most of the containers we found at yard sales also. I have given some of my arrangements away and plan on giving away one or two more. I'm posting some photos of my arrangements and decorations. I'm not very good at taking pictures, but I hope you enjoy them.

These are on my porches.

These are in my yard.

These are inside my home.

Some of my flower arrangements.

There you have it. I may add more later. I'd be interested in seeing your decorations if you have any. Like I said, I love fall decorations.

HAPPY FALL, YA'LL!

IT'S AMAZING!!

"There really is a baby in there!"

That's what my granddaughter-in-law said when she had her first ultra sound of her baby. She was so amazed! At only 14 weeks and weighing about 2 oz., it was truly clear that there was a baby in there. The doctor will have another ultra sound done on her in four weeks and hopefully we can see t
he sex at that time.

Come back in four weeks to see what we're having. I think it's a boy. We'll see.

It's Almost Here!!

October! My absolute favorite month of the year!

I think October has always been my favorite month of the year. Fall has always been my favorite season of the year. Even as a child, I can remember loving Fall. Some special things about October are my wedding anniversary on the 8th (it will be number 42 this year!), my youngest daughter's wedding anniversary on the 31st (Halloween) and her birthday on the 23rd and her youngest daughter's birthday on the 22nd, fall vacation in the mountains, beautiful scenery of fall colors, decorating my home and yard and cooler weather. Some of my recent photos are posted, showing some signs of fall.

The fall aster
s, burning bush turning red, red dogwood berries, the chestnut trees are full of chestnuts, fallen chestnut on the ground, more fallen chestnuts, another fallen chestnut, evidence of a deer among the fallen chestnuts, yellow holly berries that will soon be turning red and fall wild flowers are in full bloom.

What's your favorite season?

Ma Ma is Expecting!!

Can you believe that a 60 year old grandmother is expecting?

Well, I am! I am expecting my first great grandbaby! We don't know if it is a boy or girl yet. I personally would like it to be a boy. I have two daughters and always wanted a boy. My first grandchild was a boy. I call him my boy. He was the joy of my life. I say "was" because he is all grown up now. He got married on July 4th of this year at the age of 24. Now he gives me more worry than joy. I still love him as much as ever. He and Sierra make a pretty couple, don't they? He is the one who is making me a great grandma, and I know that my great grandbaby will give me great joy, boy or girl.

Retired and Bored

After working behind a desk for 33 years, I retired!

That will be one year ago this October 1st. I sure do like not having to get out of bed early and going to work everyday. But, during this past year, I have become reacquainted with boredom. Boredom is that well known companion of our childhood and teen years. I have piddled around th
e house, doing this and that - the necessary cleaning, cooking, working puzzles, a little crafting, a lot of the HGTV channel, day dreaming, occasional day of fishing, seasonal yard sells, and watching the birds at the feeders. I also have an occasional uninvited visiter - depression. Unwanted visitors are hard to get rid of. My "little" sister (compared to me she really is little) who has never worked since she has been married, is always busy doing just all kinds of things. I think she is trying to help me get rid of my unwanted companion and visitor. She has her own blog and has introduced me to blogging. With her insistance and encouragement, I thought, why not give it a try? So, this is the beginning. Hopefully, it will become improved over time.

My retirement cake.
And they had it decorated
in fall colors!

How nice!
